Beef Dairy Cross for Feeding to Slaughter

  • Intact Heifers and Bulls

      • EID
      • NUES Tag if applied before November 5, 2024
    • Permit
      • Will be quarantined to destination until slaughter (close out sheet needs to be sent to NDA for quarantine release)
    • Statement “Heifers quarantined until slaughter”
    • Not to be housed next to breeding animals
  • Steers
    • CVI
    • Official Individual Identification accepted by Nebraska (one of the following):

Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days prior to entry into Nebraska UNLESS shipping directly from the farm or ranch of origin to an approved tagging site. (CFR 9 – 86.1)

CVI must contain the physical location of the origin of the animals and the physical location of the destination of the animals in Nebraska. (CFR 9 – 86.1)

Calves under 2 months of age shall, prior to entry, have individual identification, pre entry permit and be held at the Nebraska destination for a minimum of 60 days.
