Sheep for Arizona

  • Our import requirements have recently changed. Permits are no longer needed for sheep coming into Nebraska.
  • CVI (Health Certificate)
  • Scrapie Identification or other Official Individual Identification
    • Official Individual Identification accepted by Nebraska (one of the following):
      • EID
      • NUES Tag
      • Breed registry tattoo (copy of registration papers must accompany the CVI for tattoos)

 

For states affected by Vesicular Stomatitis, all livestock and horses must meet the following requirements:

  • Vesicular Stomatitis Statement: The animals represented on this CVI have not originated from a premises or area under quarantine for vesicular stomatitis or a premises on which vesicular stomatitis has been diagnosed in the last thirty (30) days. I have examined the animals and found no signs for vesicular stomatitis.
  • Pre-entry import permit number required – unless using an approved eCVI
  • For exhibition purposes, all animals imported into NE shall be examined for vesicular stomatitis by an accredited veterinarian within forty-eight (48) hours of importation into NE and so stated on the CVI.

Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days prior to entry into Nebraska. (CFR 9 – 86.1)

CVI must contain the physical location of the origin of the animals and the physical location of the destination of the animals in Nebraska. Purpose of movement must be included on the CVI. (Animal Regulations)
