Show Cattle for Michigan

VS Statement: The animals represented on this CVI have not originated from a premises or area under quarantine for vesicular stomatitis or a premises on which vesicular stomatitis has been diagnosed in the last thirty (30) days. I have examined the animals and found no signs for vesicular stomatitis. 

Pre-Entry Import Permit Number required - unless using an approved eCVI

For exhibition purposes, all animals imported into NE shall be examined for vesicular stomatitis by an accredited veterinarian within forty-either (48) hours of importation into NE and so stated on the CVI.

Non Exotic Beef:

  • CVI (Health Certificate)
  • Official Individual Identification accepted by Nebraska (one of the following):
    • EID
    • NUES Tag if applied before November 5, 2024
    • Breed registry tattoo (copy of registration papers must accompany the CVI for tattoos)
  • Trichomaniasis Testing or Statements for Males
  • Trichomaniasis Testing or Statements for Females
     

Non Exotic Dairy:

    • EID

  • Negative Tuberculosis test within 60 days prior to entry or TB accredited
     

*if show animals will be returning to state of origin, the statement "returning to state of origin" can be placed on the CVI rather than a trich test or statement 

For All Michigan Cattle: Tuberculosis testing requirements for those cattle moving from the Tuberculosis modified accredited zone (currently Alcona, Alepna, Montmorency, and Oscoda counties)

  1. Cattle under 2 months of age must be quarantined upon arrival in Nebraska and tested for tuberculosis within 60 days after reaching 2 months of age.
  2. All sexually intact cattle 2 months of age or older must be tested negative for tuberculosis within 60 days of entry. Test date and result must be recorded on the CVI or accompany the CVI. If cattle originate from an accredited tuberculosis free herd and were included in a whole herd within 12 months prior to entry, the verified accredited tuberculosis free herd number and date of last test must be recorded on the CVI or accompany the CVI. 

List of Common Import Statements

Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days prior to entry into Nebraska UNLESS shipping directly from the farm or ranch of origin to an approved tagging site. (CFR 9 – 86.1)

CVI must contain the physical location of the origin of the animals and the physical location of the destination of the animals in Nebraska. (CFR 9 – 86.1)

Calves under 2 months of age shall, prior to entry, have individual identification, pre entry permit and be held at the Nebraska destination for a minimum of 60 days.
