Import Regulations
To help protect Nebraska’s dairy herd, NDA has implemented an importation order that will require all breeding female dairy cattle entering Nebraska to obtain an NDA permit prior to entry. The importation order will be in effect until August 31, 2025 and will be re-evaluated on a quarterly basis.

* USDA worked with the United States Animal Health Association (USAHA) and the National Institute for Animal Agriculture (NIAA) to provide a single website for import requirements for each state. A person importing animals into Nebraska is still responsible to meet Nebraska import requirements, regardless of the information they may find on websites provided by any entity other than the Nebraska Department of Agriculture.
