Breeding/Grazing Beef

 
  • CVI (Health Certificate)
  • Official Individual Identification accepted by Nebraska (one of the following):
    • EID
    • NUES Tag if applied before November 5, 2024
    • Breed registry tattoo (copy of registration papers must accompany the CVI for tattoos)
  • Trichomoniasis Testing or Statements for Males – one of the following statements listed on the CVI:
    • Virgin males less than 18 months of age
    • Males listed are not from a Trich positive herd and tested negative within the last 60 days and no exposure to breeding females
    • Nebraska origin breeding males exported for seasonal grazing and have not commingled with any other herd
  • Trichomoniasis Statements for Females – one of the following statements listed on the CVI:
    • The females listed on this CVI are known virgins
    • Females listed on this CVI are at least 120 days pregnant
    • No exposure to Trich positive or unknown status males since parturition
  • If going to Lone Creek Cattle Co. or Western Sires:
    • Trichomoniasis test not required. Permit required.
  • This includes breeds such as Highlander, White Park, Longhorn, Miniature, etc.

Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days prior to entry into Nebraska UNLESS shipping directly from the farm or ranch of origin to an approved tagging site or shipping directly to a federally inspected slaughter establishment.

CVI must contain the physical location of the origin of the animals and the physical location of the destination of the animals in Nebraska. Purpose of movement must be notated as "Breeding". (CFR 9 – 86.1)

All sexually intact cattle 6 months of age or older for breeding purposes must have official individual identification with that identification recorded on the CVI. (CFR 9 – 86.1)
