Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days prior to entry into Nebraska UNLESS shipping directly from the farm or ranch of origin to an approved tagging site or shipping directly to a federally inspected slaughter establishment. (CFR 9 – 93.418)

CVI or Reference Sheet & Port Paper(s) must contain the physical location of the origin of the animals and the physical location of the destination of the animals in Nebraska. Purpose of movement must be notated as "Feeding" with the statement for "Feeding Purposes Only." (Animal Import Regulations) (CFR 9 – 93.418)

All Canadian cattle require a pre entry import permit prior to movement into Nebraska. Livestock Import Permits can be obtained by calling (402) 471-2351 or accessing the Nebraska Department of Agriculture website. (NDA Animal Imports)

All Canadian cattle must have official identification with individual official ID recorded on the CVI or Reference Sheet(s) regardless of purpose of movement.

All Canadian cattle are individually identified with either an official Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) RFID tag or an official identification device or method as defined in CFR 9 – 93.418. (CFR 9 – 93.418) (Animal Import Regulations)
