- CVI (Health Certificate)
- Official Individual Identification accepted by Nebraska (one of the following)
- EID
- NUES Tag if applied before November 5, 2024
- Breed registry tattoo (copy of registration papers must accompany the CVI for tattoos)
- Pre-Entry Import Permit Number needed - unless using an approved eCVI
- Approved eCVIs: Acclaim Systems, AgView, GVL, ISDA eCVI (Idaho), Mi-Corp, myVetTech, OVIS (Oregon), SaleTime eCVI, Vet Sentry, VSPS
- Negative TB test within sixty (60) days prior to entry
- Negative Brucellosis test within sixty (60) days prior to entry
- If under 2 months of age, call our office for a quarantine.
- Quarantined to initial destination until they reach appropriate age for testing.
- If under 2 months of age, animals cannot be sold at a market/exotic sale in Nebraska.
- Exotic cattle breeds include Watusi, Zebu, Yak, etc.
- Breeds such as Highlander, White Park, Longhorn, Miniature, etc. are considered Cattle - Breeding/Grazing Beef for import requirements.

Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days prior to entry into Nebraska. (CFR 9 – 86.1)
CVI must contain the physical location of the origin of the animals and the physical location of the destination of the animals in Nebraska. Purpose of movement must be included on the CVI.
All Exotics require a pre entry import permit prior to movement into Nebraska. Import Permits can be obtained by calling (402) 471-2351 or accessing the Nebraska Department of Agriculture website. (NDA Animal Imports)
The following species shall meet the additional requirements:
Exotic bovids, except cattle and bison, over six (6) months of age shall be tested and found to be negative for Brucellosis and TB within sixty (60) days prior to entry into the state.
