Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued by an accredited veterinarian within 30 days prior to entry into Nebraska. (CFR 9 – 86.1)

CVI must contain the physical location of the origin of the animals and the physical location of the destination of the animals in Nebraska. Purpose of movement must be included on the CVI.

All dogs and cats entering the state shall be accompanied by a CVI which certifies such dog or cat is currently immunized against rabies.

Dogs and cats, over three (3) months of age, not vaccinated for rabies at the time of import into the state shall be vaccinated against rabies within thirty (30) days after arrival. All inquiries concerning rabies vaccination should be made to the Department of Health and Human Services which is located in the State Office Building, Third Floor, 301 Centennial Mall South, Lincoln, Nebraska 68509.
