Livestock Import Requirements

To help protect Nebraska’s dairy herd, NDA has implemented an importation order that will require all breeding female dairy cattle entering Nebraska to obtain an NDA permit prior to entry. The importation order will be in effect until February 28, 2026 and will be re-evaluated on a quarterly basis.

To obtain a permit, producers should contact NDA at 402-471-2351.

There have been no reported cases of HPAI in Nebraska dairy cattle or other livestock.

More information about this Order can be found here.
